The Punjab government has told the Lahore High Court that it will have no objection if the LHC allows PTI Chairman Imran Khan to participate in the court hearing through video link, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Punjab home department submitted its written reply to the court which was hearing Imran’s petition in which he either sought security during his court appearances, or requested the court to allow him to participate in the proceedings virtually.

In its reply, the home department informed the court that if the LHC allows former premier to attend court proceedings through video link, then it will have no objection.

LHC judge Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh sought a reply from the Punjab government on Imran’s plea.

The home department told the court that it held a meeting to review the security arrangements for the PTI chief.

The court was informed that it was decided in the meeting that the department would sensitize the PTI leadership about the sensitivity of the multitude of people at Zaman Park and would ask the Zaman Park residence dwellers to remove gas cylinders they used for cooking food.

The Punjab government also told the court that it has not withdrawn security provided to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The Punjab government lawyer told the court that the administration did not take back former premier’s security detail.

Imran’s lawyer sought extra time from the court in order to seek instructions from his client.

Justice Sheikh adjourned the case till Wednesday.
