Religious scholar Muhammad Ali Mirza lambasted the newlywed showbiz couple Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan for their Nikkah video from Masjid Al Haram.
Actress Kubra Khan and actor Gohar Rasheed, who are friends, recently tied the knot in a grand ceremony, with their Nikkah taking place at Masjid Al Haram in Makkah.
A video of Gohar kissing Kubra’s forehead after their Nikkah went viral, receiving love and admiration from fans.
He appeared on a private TV channel's Punjabi Ramadan transmission, and the host asked him about the couple’s affectionate moment, to which he criticized the act.
He talked about the matter openly and said, "While Islam promotes love and affection between spouses, public displays of affection in sacred places like Masjid Al Haram should be avoided."
He emphasized that while a forehead kiss is not inappropriate, it sets a precedent for others to display affection openly in holy sites.
He cautioned against blurring the lines between personal expressions of love and maintaining the sanctity of religious places."
