Shehbaz Sharif’s name placed on ECL, confirms Sh Rasheed

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday confirmed that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s name has been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after getting federal cabinet’s approval, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The interior minister said that Shehbaz Sharif’s case has now come before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Sheikh Rasheed said people across the globe wanted to go back to their native countries but thieves of Pakistan wanted to go abroad.
The minister was talking to 24NewsHD TV channel outside the Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi.
Sheikh Rasheed said Pakistan is bringing back prisoners from Saudi Arabia who have committed minor crimes and the country would not bring back the 30 inmates on death row in the Kingdom.
He reiterated that if Interior Ministry would have Rs1 billion then it could bring all prisoners back to the country.
The Interior Minister also praised Firdous Ashiq Awan’s ‘no pappi, no jhappi’ message on Eid amid the corona wave. He said whether he is in power or in opposition, his Eid is the same.
On Wednesday last, a sub-committee of the federal cabinet referred its decision to put the name of Shehbaz Sharif on the Exit Control List to the federal cabinet for final approval.
