The Sindh High Court (SHC) refused Friday to immediately issue restraining orders on the petitions submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) against the schedule of local bodies’ elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court also rejected their request to suspend the notification regarding the schedule of local bodies’ elections, asking the election commission and Sindh government to submit reply by May 24.

“Sorry! We cannot stop local bodies’ elections,” said the SHC chief justice.

The court also expressed its displeasure over non-submission of written reply by the provincial government and the election commission.
