LHC orders release of Dr Yasmeen Rashid
The Lahore High Court on Saturday suspended the detention order of former Punjab health minister and PTI leader Dr Yasmeen Rashid, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The high court ordered for the release of Dr Rashid. It also issued notices to Punjab IG police and others for May 22.
IHC Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid passed this order while hearing the petition of Zulfiqar Nabi Malik.
Dr Rashid was arrested from Lahore on Friday morning under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Andaleeb Abbas said that the former minister was hiding in Defence or Cavalry Ground area to avoid arrest as she had to reach Islamabad along with the party workers during Imran Khan’s appearance in Islamabad High Court yesterday.
Arrested PTI workers sent on 7-day judicial remand
Meanwhile, police presented 20 PTI workers arrested on the charges of vandalism before an anti-terrorism court in Lahore.
The counsel for the accused told the court that they were just laymen.
The court sent the accused on 7-day judicial remand for identification parade.
The investigation officer told the court that police arrested the accused red-handed when they were torching the Shadman police station.
ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan heard the case.
