Ameer Gilani slams Indians for removing Pakistani celebs from posters
Pakistani actor and husband of Mawra Hocane, Ameer Gilani, criticized the Indian publishers for removing Pakistani celebrities Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, singer Atif Aslam, and his wife Mawra from posters of projects they were part of.
He took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "Hilarious instead of editing our stars that added quality to their projects, perhaps they should edit their scripts and make quality projects."
As Mawra's photo has been removed from her Bollywood film 'Sanam Teri Kasam' poster, while Mahira is removed from the poster of the song Zaalima from her Bollywood film 'Raees' alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
Fawad Khan's picture has been erased through editing from the 'Kapoor and Sons' poster; however, singer Atif Aslam's credits from his own songs on Zee Music’s YouTube channel have been erased.
Mawra was removed from the Sanam Teri Kasam poster shortly after a social media spat between Hocane and Indian actor Harshvardhan Rane.
Harshvardhan Rane said that he will not work alongside Mawra if she is casted in Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
“After reading the direct comments made about my country, I have decided to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam Part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated.”
Hocane did not stay silent and lashed out at Rane’s opportunism, calling out his timing and self-serving attitude amid a grave geopolitical crisis:
“Children in my country died due to an unjustified cowardly attack… and this is what you come up with ... a PR statement to get attention? What a pity.”
“Our countries have been at war… and you use this time to seek relevance? Shameful. My country above everything else! Pakistan Zindabad.”
The tensions began after India conducted late-night missile strikes on Pakistani territory last week, a blatant violation of sovereignty that claimed innocent lives. Pakistan's armed forces responded swiftly and effectively.
Many Pakistani celebrities raised their voice against Indian aggression, including Mawra Hocane, who called the attack a “cowardly action” and stood firmly with her country.
