IGP directs Punjab police to remain alert

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed Punjab police to remain on high alert, as defeated enemy will try to create a law and order situation in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

A spokesman of Punjab police said that due to Indian aggression, Punjab police is likely to face terrorism challenges and our enemy may target sensitive areas, foreign nationals, development projects and border areas posts.

Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar distributed awards among 23 police officials for showing outstanding performance while performing their official duties in Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha and Multan traffic.

A police spokesman said that commemoration certificates and cash awards were distributed among a 10-member police team of Dera Ghazi Khan police for foiling three Khawarij’s attack on Lakhani and Jhangi check posts.

A seven-member police team of Sargodha were awarded for their efforts to control a fire which was erupted in residential area of Tarkanwala Police Station.

Awards were also distributed among six members of Multan traffic police for their efforts to increase in number of citizens who wanted to get training in driving training school.

Addressing the participants, IGP Dr. Usman Anwar lauded police officials for showing excellent performance and hoped that they will further improve their performance.

Additional Inspector-General Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, DIG Headquarters Dr. Abid Khan, SSP Asad Sarfraz, AIG Finance Nida Umar Chattha, AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi and other high-ranking police officials were also present on the occasion.
