The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Irfan Neziroğlu, called on Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, at the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The meeting marked a continuation of the warm and historic judicial ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral legal cooperation.

Justice Afridi thanked the Turkish judiciary for their exceptional hospitality during his recent official visit to Türkiye, where he attended the 63rd anniversary celebrations of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye. The Chief Justice lauded the enduring bond between the two nations, rooted in shared legal traditions, cultural ties, and mutual respect.

In a wide-ranging conversation, the Chief Justice highlighted the value of judicial exchanges, particularly in the areas of education, training, and capacity building across all tiers of Pakistan’s judiciary.

He emphasised the importance of structured cooperation that includes Pakistan’s district judiciary, noting that exposure to Türkiye’s advancements in court management, digitisation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) would greatly benefit Pakistani judicial officers.
