Family of Liaquat Shaheed to receive Sitara-i- Shujaat today

On the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday approved honouring Liaquat Shaheed, son of Karim Elahi, who had foiled a terror attack by intercepting a suicide bomber in Jand area of Attock a couple of days ago, with Sitara-i-Shujaat, which is the second biggest civil award given in recognition of a person’s bravery, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The deceased’s mother, brother and son will receive the award from the president today in the evening.

Full protocol was given to the family when it left for Islamabad to receive the award as Elite Force contingent and AC Jand escorted them to the federal capital.

The valour shown by the martyred prevented a terror attack and thus saved dozens, perhaps hundreds of human lives.
