President Zardari presents civil awards to several prominent personalities

President Asif Zardari presented civil awards to several prominent personalities at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in recognition of outstanding performance in various fields. The honours included Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Shujaat and other national awards for services to democracy, literature, public service, bravery, education, sports, science, technology, tourism, energy and defence of the homeland.

The late political figure Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan was awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his valuable services to democracy. His award was received by his son, Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan. 

The late Irfanul Haq Siddiqui was awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to literature and public service. His son, Imran Khawar Siddiqui, received the award on his behalf. Renowned writer Attaul Haq Qasmi was awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz for distinguished services in literature. His son, Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, received the award.

Hilal-e-Shujaat for martyrs, brave personnel

Sepoy Azhar Mahmood was awarded Hilal-e-Shujaat in recognition of extraordinary bravery. Sepoy Shah Wali Khan was also awarded Hilal-e-Shujaat. Martyred ASI Ijaz Khan received Hilal-e-Shujaat for valuable services, while Sub-Inspector Laiqzada Shaheed was also honoured with the same award.

Constable Alam Zeb, who sacrificed his life for the country, was awarded Hilal-e-Shujaat. Constable Muhammad Ijaz was also awarded Hilal-e-Shujaat for exemplary bravery.

The mother, sons and brothers of civilian Liaquat arrived at Aiwan-e-Sadr to receive his Sitara-e-Shujaat. The family was brought to the President House with special official protocol.

Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Leghari was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for successful reforms in the energy sector and outstanding public service. Advisor to Privatization Muhammad Ali was also awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for valuable services in the energy and public services sector.

Taj Haider was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz in the field of public service. Azizuddin Bolani received Hilal-e-Imtiaz for services in tourism and hospitality.

Senior journalist Ehteshamul Haq was also awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Muzammad Jah Ansari was honoured with Hilal-e-Imtiaz for distinguished services in public service. Malik Atta Muhammad was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for services in sports, particularly equestrian activities. Mountaineer Kashif Shahroz received Hilal-e-Imtiaz for excellence. Shahid Afridi was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for outstanding and distinguished services in the sports sector.

Zahra Majid Ali was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for distinguished services in literature. Asghar Nadeem Syed also received Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to literature. Professor Dr Ikramul Haq was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for distinguished services in education. Eminent agricultural scientist and educationist Dr Amir Muhammad was also awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

Muhammad Yousuf Khan was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz in the field of space science and technology. Mirza Rizwan Baig received Hilal-e-Imtiaz for distinguished services in science and technology. Engineer Jamaluddin was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for services in engineering and electricity.
