NA 133 by-polls: New LHC bench to hear Cheema’s petition

The Lahore High Court has formed a new bench to hear the petitions of Pakistan-Tehreek-i-Insaf’ candidate Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and his wife Musarrat Jamshed whose nomination papers for the by-polls of NA 133, Lahore were rejected, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, the Lahore High Court on Saturday formed a two-judge bench to be headed by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan and comprising Justice Faisal Zaman.
The bench would hear the petitions of PTI candidate for by-polls NA 133 Mr Cheema and his covering candidate that happens to be his wife on Nov 15. Advocate Mubeenuddin Qazi will represent the petitioners in the court.
Mr and Mrs Cheema have challenged the decision of the election tribunal which rejected their nomination papers in the Lahore High Court. Their nomination papers were rejected by a returning officer and the election tribunal retained the decision of the RO.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court bench that was to be headed by Justice Shahid Waheed could not hear the couple’s petitions as Justice Waheed recused himself from hearing the case, following that a new bench of the court has been formed.
