Saudi-returned man dies of police torture in DG Khan

A man who came back from Saudi Arabia two days ago died allegedly by the torture of police in Kot Chattah, Dera Ghazi Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police spokesman informed on Saturday that on a tip-off, the Kot Chattah police arrested an unknown suspect who was possessing arms. While taking him to the police station, his condition suddenly worsened. The police immediately shifted him to Kot Chattah Hospital where he expired.
The man who was later identified as Gulzar came back from Saudi Arabia a couple of days ago and it was alleged that he was tortured to death by the police.
DPO Muhammad Waseem suspended SHO of the Kot Chattah police station and formed an inquiry committee.
The post mortem of the dead was being conducted, the police spokesperson added.
He said if torture was proved in the post mortem report, then disciplinary action would be taken against the responsible police officials.
The DPO vowed that justice would be ensured at any cost, he added.
