Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmad appointed as KPT chairman

Rear Admiral (retd) Shahid Ahmed has been appointed as Chairman Karachi Port Trust (KPT), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to notification, Rear Admiral (retd) Shahid Ahmed has been appointed on contract bases.
The appointment has been made under Section 6 (1) of the KPT Act 1886 till further order.
The post of permanent chairman was vacant in KPT for a year.
A summary of three names was sent to the Prime Minister for the post of Chairman KPT.
The three names included Rear Admiral (retd) Shahid Ahmed, Abdul Ghafran Memon and Abdul Majid Yousafani.
Earlier, Rear Admiral (retd) Shahid Ahmed has also been the Director of Operations at Port Qasim.
