The federal government on Thursday filed a contempt petition against former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for violating the court orders on May 25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The government, in its petition, adopted that the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan had been violated blatantly on May 25.

“Instead of going to H9 Ground, Imran Khan gave a call to the PTI workers to reach D-Chowk. The PTI workers damaged public and private property in the Red Zone,” it stated.

“It is clear from the reports of the police and intelligence agencies that the court orders had been defied,” it added.
