The primitive culture of premeditated honour killing is still rampant in the remote areas of Pakistan as a male relative on Tuesday murdered his female kin along with her purported paramour in a karo-kari tradition in Mirpurkhas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, the paternal uncle of a girl put her and her lover to death on the suspicion that the pair might have developed illicit relations in Goth Ali Bakhsh in Mirpurkhas, Sindh.

After killing them both, the deceased girl’s uncle reached the police station and turned himself in.

The karo-kari act is usually committed against women who are thought to have brought dishonour to their family by engaging in illicit pre-marital or extra-marital relations. In order to restore this honour, a male family member must kill the female in question.
