Police officer, who harassed female complainant, dismissed in Lahore
A police official, who developed illicit relations with a woman, by misusing his powers, has been dismissed from service in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
As per an inquiry report, DSP Hassan Aziz developed illicit relationship with a female complainant named Saadia during an investigation into her case.
The report informed that the DSP held private meetings with the woman by promising her that he would pursue her case.
It was in 2023 when the woman first lodged a complaint against the police official, accusing him of harassing her.
However, DIG Ameen Bukhari, in his inquiry report, recommended a light punishment for the DSP.
And when Saadia complained for the second time, another inquiry was ordered during which Aziz failed to prove his innocence to Additional IG Muhammad Idrees, who revisited all facts of the case.
Third time, Additional IG Imran Mehmood probed the matter.
This time, too, the DSP failed to defend himself.
In both these inquiries, the additional IGs recommended dismissal of the official from service.
And it was in light of three inquiry reports that the Punjab IGP Abdul Karim finally ordered that the official be sacked.
However, Aziz has filed an appeal in the Punjab Home Department against the IGP orders.
