Two sisters killed in Karachi dumper crash as traffic fatalities rise

Two sisters were killed in a road accident in Karachi after a dumper truck struck them in the Nazimabad area, as traffic-related fatalities continue to surge in the city, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.  

According to officials, the incident occurred near a local bakery, where both victims died at the scene.

Their bodies were later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Authorities identified the victims as Angel, 21, and Esther, 17, daughters of Yameen Masih.

A brother accompanying them at the time of the accident survived unharmed.

At least six people were killed in traffic accidents across Karachi within a span of 16 hours, highlighting growing concerns over road safety in the country’s largest city. 

Officials said the number of fatalities from road accidents in the city has reached 30 so far this month, while the total death toll for 2026 has climbed to 307.

The accidents have intensified public concern over the movement of heavy vehicles in densely populated areas, with residents and officials warning that unchecked heavy traffic has become a serious threat to citizens' safety.
