Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has been awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan in recognition of his services to strengthening the relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, reported 24 News HD TV Channel Sunday. 

Khan, who is serving as mayor of London for the second consecutive term since 2016, was bestowed the prestigious civil award during a ceremony organized to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan at the High Commission of Pakistan in London. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sadiq Khan said that he is proud to play the role of a bridge between Pakistan and the UK, the cultural and commercial links between London and Pakistan are very important.
