Wrestlers of Lahore and Bahawalpur share Sher-e-Punjab title

Malu Pehlwan of Lahore and Hameed Qasai Pehlwan of Bahawalpur have been declared Sher-e-Punjab, reported 24 News HD TV Channel Sunday.
In the title wrestling match, the duo stood firm providing an amazing contest, making the jury declare that both deserve to share the title.
On the joyous occasion of Independence Day, a large number of people watched around two dozen matches of different categories in the wrestling competition, Jasne Azadi Sher-e-Punjab Dangal. The competition was held in Lahore and organized by the Lahore Wrestling Association.
Punjab Minister of Sports Malik Taimur Masood was the chief guest on the occasion who also distributed the prize money among the winning wrestlers.
Talking to the media, he said the Dangal will be held in Punjab on regular basis.
Organizers Mehr Akram alias Kala Pehlwan, Arshad Sattar and Farid Pehlwan said that they are trying to restore the splendor of the arenas in the city. They expressed their determination to make a big Dangal every month. They also requested citizens of Lahore to encourage wrestlers by watching Dangal.
Pakistan’s wrestling team Coach Farid said there is a dire need for a National Wrestling Academy in the country at this time. Farid said the wrestling team performed well in the CWG. He claimed that Pakistan could win a gold medal if government bear the cost of training 20 national wrestlers. He said Inam Butt should have received international training.
