PMA Lahore celebrates 80th independence day with traditional enthusiasm

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Lahore celebrated the country’s 80th Independence Day with traditional enthusiasm, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

At a flag-hoisting ceremony, the association's office-bearers paid tribute to the unnamed martyrs of the Pakistan Movement. They renewed their commitment to play their role in the country’s safety, progress and prosperity.

PMA Centre President Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry, PMA Punjab President Dr Kamran Saeed Sheikh, PMA Lahore President Prof Shahid Malik and former PMA presidents Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf Nizami and Prof Tanveer Anwar hoisted the national flag at the ceremony.

Addressing the participants, PMA Lahore President Prof Shahid Malik paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement. 

Prof Ashraf Nizami and Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry also addressed the ceremony and highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made for the country.

A large number of doctors and members of the PMA executive council attended the event, including Dr Iram Shahzadi, Dr Wajid Ali, Dr Bushra Haq, Dr Maryam Fatima, Dr Ahmed Naeem Akhtar, Dr Kamran Ahmed, Dr Arif Tabassum, Dr Rashid Malik, Dr Naeem Baig, Dr Talha Sherwani, Dr Muhammad Sadiq, Dr Tahir Khalil and Dr Arshad Humayun.
