Number of prime suspects held in Sialkot lynching tops 52

The number of main suspects arrested in the Sialkot lynching case of a Sri Lankan national has risen to 52 as the police have sent another 18 prime accused to Lahore for their forensic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, the police have already conducted forensic of 34 main suspects involved in the horrible Sialkot lynching of a foreigner who worked in a Sialkot sports goods factory as an export manager. 

The authorities detained another 18 main suspects and sent them to Lahore on Tuesday for forensic.

So far, the police have arrested more than 100 people in this case. 

Yesterday, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala granted physical remand of 18 accused of the lynching incident. Punjab police brought the accused persons amid strict security measures.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and directed police authorities to pace up the investigation to bring the accused under the law.  

Priyantha Kumara was brutally killed by a mob on allegations that he tore a religious poster pasted on the wall of the factory. His body was later dragged on the road and set on fire by the mob, receiving global condemnation.
