Huzaifa Ahsan vows to bounce back after U19 Asia Cup loss to India

Pakistan’s skipper Huzaifa Ahsan has vowed to lead his team back to victory in the Under-19 Asia Cup, despite a 90-run defeat to India in their fifth match at the ICC Academy in Dubai, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

The 18-year-old from Karachi top-scored for Pakistan with a fighting 70-run innings off 83 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes.

Ahsan admitted that he had wished his runs could have been enough to secure a win.

“I wanted my runs to count towards a victory for Pakistan,” he said.

“But we’re not discouraged. Our goal is still clear — to win this tournament and bring the trophy back to Pakistan,” he added, expressing optimism that the team still has plenty of opportunities to bounce back.

Chasing a target of 241, Pakistan’s batting struggled as they were bowled out for 150 in 41.2 overs, with Ahsan anchoring the innings while other middle-order batters failed to make a significant impact.

Despite the setback, Ahsan’s determination and composure at the crease signal that Pakistan remains a strong contender in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025.
