PTI leadership outside Adiala Jail is incompetent: Imran Ismail

Former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has sharply criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership currently operating outside Adiala Jail, describing it as incompetent and politically immature, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Sunday, Imran Ismail congratulated the Pakistan Army on the accountability process initiated against former intelligence chief Faiz Hameed, stating that the proceedings were conducted with seriousness, responsibility, and transparency.

He asserted that the accountability drive would not stop with a single individual, adding that those who benefited from Faiz Hameed would also be held accountable in due course. “No one will remain above the law,” he emphasized.

The former governor, who remained part of the PTI government, said that the present PTI leadership lacks political understanding and the ability to navigate Pakistan’s complex political landscape.

He remarked that the leadership outside jail had failed on both political and strategic fronts, pushing the party into a difficult and uncertain phase due to poor decision-making and the absence of clear direction.

Imran Ismail also criticised PTI figures residing abroad, claiming that their priorities were driven more by financial interests than by concern for the country or the party.

Stressing the importance of national unity, he said that collective efforts were essential for Pakistan’s progress and urged all political parties to respect, empower, and stand by their workers. He advised PTI to abandon confrontational politics and instead focus on a service-oriented political approach.

The former governor further stated that Pakistan’s international standing had improved following success in what he termed the “Battle for Truth,” adding that the ongoing accountability process would continue without interruption.
