New government policy gave legal status to foreign degrees in private universities as the Ministry of Education on Monday decided to give exemption to private universities for issuing international degrees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In private universities, the government's ban on offering degrees from foreign educational institutions has been lifted.

The letter issued by the Ministry of Education stated that the private universities will have the freedom to enter into agreements with foreign educational institutions

More than 80 private universities across the country, including Lahore, will benefit from the government's policy.

Pertinent to note that the government terms of agreement with foreign educational institutions will only applicable to public universities.
