Bangladesh's elected MPs official gazette published, oath-taking preparations underway
The Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) has published the gazette with the names of the winning candidates in the 13th National Parliament election of Bangladesh. The official results of the newly elected members of 297 out of 300 seats of the National Parliament were published late on Friday night.
Earlier, simultaneous voting was held in 42,779 centers across Bangladesh from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Thursday. The referendum was also held across Bangladesh on the same day. The spontaneous presence of young voters was remarkable; they exercised their right to vote with enthusiasm and enthusiasm in the hope of forming a new Bangladesh through the ballot.
According to Bangladesh Election Commission sources, a record number of political parties participated in the election this time after the registration process started in 2008. A total of 51 parties, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and Jatiya Nagorik Party, were in the election contest.
There were a total of 2,029 candidates in this election—1,755 from parties and 274 from independents. The number of female candidates was 80. A total of 119 symbols were allocated for the contest among the participating candidates.
Meanwhile, the National Parliament Secretariat has started preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of parliament. Overall preparations have been made to ensure protocol, security and necessary services to complete this important constitutional moment in a fair and dignified manner.
