Sindh CM Murad vows to pursue katcha dacoits till their elimination

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday said that an operation against the dacoits of katcha area would continue till they were completely wiped out, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a passing out ceremony held at Shahid Hayat Police Training College, Saeedabad in Karachi, he said that the sacrifices given by the police personnel against terrorism could not be forgotten. 

He said that the police had made significant progress in the operation against dacoits during the last three months.

He informed that 112 dacoits, with head money, were eliminated during the operation, while 114 dacoits surrendered to the police.

“As many as 460 captives have been released so far,” he elaborated.

The chief minister said terrorists were still active in two provinces of the country. “Therefore, we will have to remain on our toes,” he said, and added, “However, as far as Sindh is concerned, terrorism has been eliminated.”

He expressed the hope that terrorism would not raise its head in the province again. “There was a time when our cities were insecure. There were bomb blasts every day,” CM Murad said, adding that drop in the crime rate and improvement in the law and order situation was the achievement of the Sindh Police.

The chief minister, on the occasion, announced an increase in the food allowance of the police personnel to Rs10,000 per month.

He congratulated 879 jawans who passed out.
