Taylor Swift gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at her hit Opalite music video
Taylor Swift has treated fans to a playful glimpse behind the scenes of her Opalite music video, sharing the laughs, chaos, and creativity that went into bringing her ‘90s-inspired vision to life.
The 36-year-old pop superstar posted a series of photos on Instagram, showing herself joking with Graham Norton and Domhnall Gleeson, while cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto looked on. “I never want to forget a single detail of this hysterical shoot, and now I don’t have to!” Swift wrote.
Fans got extended glimpses of the video in two extra clips, featuring dance rehearsals, camcorder-style footage, giant scrunchies, fanny packs, and plenty of fun antics. Swift and Gleeson could be seen practising bunny dance moves in sparkly tracksuits and shooting the mall escalator scene at the Whitgift Shopping Centre in South London.

In the whimsical storyline, Swift plays Lonely Girl, whose only companion is a pet rock — until she encounters Lonely Boy (Gleeson) and his pet cactus. Together, they embark on a ‘90s-style adventure, from mall dates to dance competitions, aided by the magical Opalite spray. Norton stars as a quirky “Nope-alite” salesman, while cameos from Lewis Capaldi, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith add extra sparkle.
The idea came from Swift’s October appearance on The Graham Norton Show, when Gleeson jokingly said he wanted to appear in one of her videos. Swift turned the moment into a full concept, enlisting all her fellow guests from the show to join the surreal ‘90s time-travel adventure.

Shot entirely on film, Swift also directed the video herself, blending nostalgia, humor, and star-studded cameos into a visually rich story. “I had more fun than I ever imagined — made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, Swift is also planning a personal milestone: her summer wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce, adding another exciting chapter to her eventful year.
