Pakistan reports 3,097 new virus cases with 46 more deaths

Pakistan reported 3,097 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Wednesday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 46 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 10,818 that represents a ratio of 2%.

According to the latest figures, 3,097 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 41,574 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 511,921 that returned positive after conducting 7,243,650 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country reached 33,869 with 2,410 patients in critical condition. There are 308 patients on ventilators.

There were 2,284 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 467,234 with a 91.3% recovery rate.

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 767 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 147,292 with 11,119 active cases. The province reported 25 new virus-related death as death toll reached 4,348. With 913 new recoveries, 125,129 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 1,769 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 230,718 with 16,847 active cases. The province reported 14 new deaths as the death toll reached 3,744. With 888 new recoveries, 197,430 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 359 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 62,377 with 3,312 active cases. The province reported 4 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 1,752. With 286 new recoveries, 54,519 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan has recorded another 21 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,488 with 298 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 188. With 24 new recoveries, 17,812 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad has recorded 162 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 39,624 with 1,975 active cases. Two new deaths were reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 449. With 151 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 35,093 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 19 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 8,540 with 283 active cases. With one new death reported, the death toll reaches at 236. There were 20 new recoveries in the AJK as 7,758 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 2 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,882 with 35 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 101. There were 2 new recoveries as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,716.
