Govt announces fees for issuance of e-passports

In the first phase, e-passports are being issued only from Islamabad

The federal government has announced the schedule for depositing fee following granting its consent to issuance of e-passports in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The fee schedule was unveiled for diplomatic, official and ordinary categories.

Common citizens will be issued e-passports on the expiry of their existing ones.

In the first phase, the e-passports will be issued only from Islamabad. The date for launching of the service from other cities of the country will be announced later.

The normal fee for a 36-page five-year e-passport is fixed at Rs9,000 and urgent fee at Rs15,000.

The normal fee for a 36-page 10-year e-passport is fixed at Rs13,500 and urgent fee at Rs22,500.

The normal fee for a 72-page five-year e-passport is Rs16,500 and urgent fee is Rs27,500.
The normal fee for 72-page 10-year e-passport is Rs24,750 and urgent fee is Rs40,500.
The fee payment can be made through National Bank of Pakistan, mobile app, MobiCash and Easy Paisa.
