The Election Commission of Pakistan ( ECP) has refrained the Punjab government from giving the status of a division to Mianwali – the hometown of PTI chief Imran Khan.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Chief Minister Parvez Elahi presided over the farewell meeting of the Punjab cabinet.

The meeting approved giving the status of division to Mianwali, the hometown of Pakistan. Earlier, the Chief Minister of Punjab gave the status of a division to his hometown Gujarat.
