Australian cricket team to play 3 T20Is in Pakistan from Jan 28

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed Australia's tour of Pakistan in late January, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The Australian T20 squad will arrive in Lahore on Wednesday, January 28.

Dates of three-match T20 series has been confirmed. All three matches to be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

The series will start from January 29 while the other matches will be played on January 31 and February 1.

The toss in all three matches will be held at 5:30 PM Pakistan time and the first ball will be bowled at 6 PM.

The series is crucial for both teams ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 next month.

Pakistan is in Group A of the World Cup while Australia is in Group B.

This will be Australia's third tour of Pakistan since March 2022.

In 2022, Australia played a Test series, three ODIs and a T20 match in Pakistan.

Three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 were also played in Pakistan.

The only match played at Gaddafi Stadium and Australia defeated Pakistan by 3 wickets in the T20 match.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Syed Sameer Ahmed Syed said we are excited to host Australia for a three-match T20 series and this series will be a great start to the year for Pakistani cricket fans. 

Sameer Ahmed Syed said since March 2022, the Australian team has played one Test, five ODIs and one T20 match at the Gaddafi Stadium, so this ground has become familiar to them.

All scheduled matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

First T20 on Thursday, January 29 at 6 pm while second T20 on Saturday, January 31 at 6 pm and third T20 on Sunday, February 1 at 6 pm.

LCCA Ground upgraded

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to upgrade Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground and National Cricket Academy.

PCB issued advertisement for construction works of LCCA and National Cricket Academy.

Applications for construction works can be submitted till January 30.

PCB has decided to expand National Cricket Academy.

According to sources, Players’ rooms equipped with modern facilities will be built at National Cricket Academy.

Players and admin blocks and training facilities will also be modernized.

LCC Ground to be upgraded in a modern way and the Governing Board has approved the upgrade of LCC Ground in the style of Oval Ground.
