Ziarat Hassan Shah Island to be developed into tourist hub: Minister

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on Wednesday announced to develop the island of Ziarat Hassan Shah, off the coast of Karachi, into a tourist hub, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The minister said that the island would be eco-friendly and over Rs1 billion were expected to be spent on its development. “The project is also expected to attract investment of billions of rupees,” he said, adding, “The island will be connected to Karachi’s District East by road.”
This, he further said, would create job opportunities and promote the local economy.
Chaudhry assured that coastal environment would be protected. “The island will prove to be a new example of blue economy.”
