Mohsin Naqvi praises CDA for setting up first Climate Change Fund to protect Islamabad

On the directive of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established an Environmental Change Fund for the first time in history to protect Islamabad from the impacts of climate change.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Minister praised CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the relevant team for their efforts in establishing the Environmental Fund.
Mohsin Naqvi commended the CDA for leading the way by creating the fund, emphasising that the CDA team deserves congratulations.
According to CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a carbon credit programme will also be launched in the city. He added that under the carbon credit programme, areas ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 kanals have been designated for tree plantations.
He said the designated areas, located in new sectors, avenues, and other open spaces, will see the planting of 4 to 5 million trees.
He said approval has also been given for the Margalla Hills Fund, which will allocate 1.5% of the revenue from recreational sites in the Margalla Hills.
He said the funds raised will ensure the protection and beautification of the Margalla Hills.
