‘Case is under trial’, Momina Iqbal shuts down reconciliation claims

Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has firmly denied circulating reports claiming that she has reached a compromise in her ongoing legal case, urging the public and media outlets to stop spreading unverified information that could interfere with judicial proceedings.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actress issued a detailed statement addressing the rumors that have surfaced after recent court hearings.

In her statement, Momina wrote:

"Those who spread news after every court hearing claiming that a reconciliation or compromise has been reached, please stop spreading such false and unverified reports. If a compromise had actually taken place, these hearings would not still be ongoing. The case is still under trial. Please refrain from spreading unverified news, as it can negatively impact the legal proceedings. Let the court make the final decision; the truth will reveal itself, InshaAllah."

The clarification comes after speculation spread online following a recent hearing in a Lahore sessions court, where the court extended the pre-arrest bail of one of the accused. Shortly afterward, social media posts and reports falsely claimed that both parties had reached an out-of-court settlement.

Momina's latest statement categorically rejects those claims, emphasizing that no compromise has been reached and that the matter remains pending before the court.

The actress had previously filed a cyberbullying and harassment case with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against Member of the Provincial Assembly Saqib Chadhar and his wife. The case is currently under judicial consideration.
