Govt notifies key transfers and postings in federal bureaucracy

The federal government has issued a series of notifications announcing appointments, transfers and postings of officers serving in various government departments, while also withdrawing a departmental punishment awarded to a senior civil servant on court orders.

According to notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Muhammad Iqbal, a Grade 19 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been transferred from the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Division.

In a separate notification, Muhammad Umar, a Grade 19 officer of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service serving as Director Commercial Audit and Evaluation (North), Islamabad, has been appointed as Director (BS-19) in the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on a three-year deputation.

The Establishment Division also announced withdrawal of the departmental punishment imposed on Mansoor Ali Wasan, a Grade 19 officer of the Secretariat Group, in 2021. The decision was taken in compliance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan's order dated June 4, 2026, and the Federal Service Tribunal's decision of May 3, 2023. As a result, the penalty of withholding two annual increments for three years has been revoked.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, Asia Gul, has been transferred and appointed as Member (Administration and Finance) in the National Disaster Management Authority.

The government also posted Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Muhammad Umar Javed as Section Officer in the Establishment Division.

In another transfer, Section Officer Ahmed Ali has been moved from the Commerce Division to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Additionally, the services of Jibran Khan Durrani, Deputy Director at the Regional Directorate Audit (Local Government), Rawalpindi, have been placed at the disposal of the Senate Secretariat, Islamabad, on deputation.

The latest appointments and transfers are part of the federal government's routine administrative reshuffle across various ministries and departments.
