Lahore private schools given three days to report admissions under 10% quota

The District Education Authority Lahore has issued a final warning to private schools to submit details of admissions granted to disadvantaged children under the mandatory 10% free education quota, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.

The authority directed private schools to ensure that at least 10% of students in every class are admitted free of cost in accordance with the Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Rules 2024.

Schools have been given three days to provide a complete record of admissions made under the quota.

The information must be submitted in both soft and hard copy, the authority said.

Officials warned that schools failing to provide the required data or meet the 10% quota could face legal and administrative action.

Possible measures include fines and suspension of school registration, according to the notice.

The education authority said the action was aimed at enforcing the right to education for children from low-income and disadvantaged families.

Private schools have also been asked to provide class-wise details of students admitted free of cost and evidence showing compliance with the rules.

The authority said strict action would be taken against institutions that failed to implement the quota or withheld admission records.
