High Commission for Pakistan Canberra Babaer Amin and Pakistan Consul General Sydney Muhammad Ashraf were also present at the airport to see off the passengers.

On June 9, the High Commission for Pakistan Canberra also announced that a special repatriation flight operated by the Sri Lankan Airlines is being arranged to evacuate stranded Pakistanis from Sydney, Australia to Lahore, Pakistan via Colombo at 2 pm on 14 June 2020. The flight number is UL 607.

“Those stranded Pakistanis who have registered themselves with us may wish to avail this opportunity to be repatriated to Pakistan. The Sri Lankan Airlines will contact the registered Pakistanis themselves to offer seats. We have negotiated the best possible ticket price given the circumstances,” the High Commissioner said.

“As announced earlier, prioritization will be done on the basis of the criteria set by the Government of Pakistan that is available on the website www.COVID.gov.pk. Priority will thus be given to those Pakistani nationals who are in Australia on visitors visas,” the High Commission for Pakistan Canberra said.
