PTI leaders reject federal budget 2025-26

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leaders Omar Ayub Khan, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Taimoor Khan Jhagra and Shibli Faraz on Saturday held a press conference where they highlighted various aspects of the federal budget 2025-26.

Speaking to the media, Omar Ayub said his budget speech in the National Assembly was not telecast live. He said that even Wi-Fi service was suspended during his speech because the rulers know that he would hold them mirror. He said that currently the national budget is in a state of “died on arrival”. He said the PTI rejects this budget.

He said the government wanted people to consume expensive electricity instead of cheaper one. He said the government is adding fuel price adjustment to electricity bills and the rate of this FPA is changing every three months. He said that people are bearing the brunt of flawed policies of the government. 

Referring to the Iran-Israel war, Omar Ayub said it could affect the entire region and cause a severe fuel shortage. He said that Iran is currently selling petroleum products to several countries in Europe and Japan. He said that fuel prices might go up if the Iran-Israel war continues.
