British envoy praises Pakistan-made FIFA World Cup football

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has praised the FIFA World Cup football produced in Pakistan’s Sialkot.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the British High Commissioner described Pakistani football as a symbol of world-class craftsmanship and sporting heritage.

She expressed these views in a documentary titled “Made in Pakistan: Sialkot to FIFA”, highlighting the historical connection and emotional value associated with Pakistani-made footballs.

Marriott said that Pakistan, particularly the city of Sialkot, has earned global recognition through its high-quality football manufacturing, which has left a strong mark on international tournaments including the FIFA World Cup.

She added that Pakistani football carries “historical memories” and reflects the country’s long-standing contribution to global sports equipment production.

A matter of great prestige and honour for Pakistan as the official football for the FIFA World Cup, 2026 has also been manufactured in Sialkot.

World’s leading publications and TV channels, too, have acknowledged Pakistan’s industrial expertise and quality.

According to the TRT, the fact that 70 per cent of world’s footballs are manufactured in Sialkot has made Pakistan an important center of world’s supply chain.

The TRT says that for the last 40 years, Pakistan’s football industry has made a name for itself in the FIFA World Cup.
