CCD personnel kill three alleged robbers in 'encounter' near Renala Khurd

Three suspected robbers were killed and one was arrested during an alleged encounter between the Crime Control Department (CCD) and armed criminals on the outskirts of Renala Khurd, officials and sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, a group of nine armed robbers was fleeing after committing a robbery in a nearby village when they encountered a CCD team. An exchange of fire followed, resulting in the death of three suspects on the spot, while one was taken into custody. Five others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

The deceased were identified as Kaka, son of Faqira; Haider, son of Akbar; and Abbas, son of Ashiq, all reportedly residents of Depalpur.

Following the incident, CCD personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the fleeing suspects.

Sources stated that the arrested and killed individuals were allegedly involved in a recent dacoity incident in 7GD village in the limits of Chachak Police Station, where a 15-year-old boy and his uncle were injured after resisting the robbery. The gang was also reportedly involved in multiple criminal activities in Majhana, Chachak and surrounding areas.

Officials added that the group was wanted in several cases registered at Sadar Police Station Renala Khurd, City Gogera Police Station, and Sadar Police Station Okara.

CCD officials confirmed that a wider search operation is ongoing and investigations are continuing to determine further links and activities of the gang.
