Hazara Express coach catches fire at Sadiqabad Railway Station

A coach of the Hazara Express caught fire at Sadiqabad Railway Station on Sunday, prompting an emergency evacuation of passengers and the launch of a rescue operation, officials said.

According to railway authorities, the train was en route from Karachi to Havelian when the incident occurred. Passengers were immediately evacuated from the affected bogie as a precautionary measure.

Rescue teams were called to the scene and began firefighting operations soon after the incident was reported. Officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control after prompt response efforts.

Railway's Sukkur Division Superintendent (DS) Farman Ghani, in an updated statement, said the affected coach was detached from the rest of the train to prevent the fire from spreading to other compartments.

He added that the cause of the fire could not be immediately determined. Rescue teams remained engaged in extinguishing the blaze and ensuring safety at the site.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident. Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
