IHC to take up Sohail Afridi's petition seeking meeting with Imran Khan tomorrow
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled for hearing a petition filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi seeking permission to meet the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.
According to court officials, the IHC Registrar's Office fixed the petition for hearing along with objections raised on the petition. The matter is set to be heard tomorrow by Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro.
Sohail Afridi had filed the petition last week, requesting permission for a prison meeting with Imran Khan, who is also the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In a related development, a similar application filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam seeking a meeting with the PTI founder in jail has been scheduled for hearing tomorrow.
The court is expected to examine the maintainability of the petitions as well as the objections raised before deciding on the requests for prison meetings.
