India-Israel nexus can exploit situation in AJK, says Bilawal Bhutto

Expressing concern over the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said on Sunday that the situation could provide India and Israel an opportunity to unleash propaganda against Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

He appealed to the protesters in AJK to disperse peacefully and turn themselves into the police in case they had taken law into their own hands.

PPP chairman stressed the need for finding a solution to all issues in a democratic way and through dialogue. "It is the parliament, not streets, which is the right forum for the resolution of issues," he opined. 

Bilawal said that the PPP had already demanded the withdrawal of schedule for elections in AJK, adding it was issued prematurely. 

He said that the PPP would try to form 'Truth and Reconciliation Commission' to bring about rapprochement between political parties. 

Again turning to the situation in AJK, he said that there could be no compromise on the rule of law. 

Earlier, speaking to PPP Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) President Amjad Advocate over telephone, Bilawal Bhutto said that it was only the PPP which would form government in GB.

Congratulating him on the party’s victory in the general elections, Bilawal asked him to make an effort to form a government based on reconciliation and consensus in which other political parties and independents too had representation.

The PPP chairman also directed Amjad to contact all winning candidates so that a government could be formed after consultations.

PPP led the race after its candidates won the elections in 10 constituencies followed by the PML-N which managed to grab six seats, while independent candidates, including two PTI-backed ones, emerged victorious in seven constituencies.

Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen was able to win just one seat, the results showed.
