Jhang police claimed Monday to have arrested a dacoit in injured condition after a shootout on Karai Road, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, the accused was identified as Imran Malah, and he was wanted by police in 19 different cases of dacoity and theft.

Police maintained that the accused, along with two accomplices, was busy carrying out a dacoity on Karai Road when a police team reached the spot.

“The dacoits resorted to indiscriminate firing on the police team,” police said.

“The policemen remained safe. However, one of the dacoits was injured in firing by his accomplices,” police claimed.

“The police arrested him, whereas, the other two dacoits managed to flee away. An operation for their arrest is underway,” they stated.
