Massive fire engulfs chemical factory in Lahore

A massive fire broke out in a chemical factory located in Nishtar Colony of Lahore on Friday which engulfed the entire facility causing loss of millions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Soon after receiving the report of the incident, Rescue 1122 team reached the factory adjacent Gajju Mata and brought the fire which erupted in factory’s Chemical Tower under control.

Rescue sources confirmed that the chemical which was lying on the floor of the factory was destroyed.

Earlier in February 2025, fire erupted at an optical shop in Lahore’s Makkah Colony that engulfed a nearby house; however, there was no loss of life.

Rescue 1122 officials said that the fire erupted due to short-circuit.

In the past, Pakistan has unfortunately seen several devastating factory fires, including the 2012 Ali Enterprises fire in Karachi, which resulted in the deaths of over 250 workers, and a 2021 chemical factory fire in Mehran Town that killed 17, highlighting serious safety issues in Pakistani factories.
