Motorway police arrest kidnapper, seize abducted man

The Motorway Police M-3 successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a kidnapping for ransom case and rescued the victim near Nankana Sahib.

According to a spokesperson from the Motorway Police, patrol officers stopped a suspicious vehicle near Nankana Sahib. When the vehicle was intercepted, the suspects attempted to flee by opening fire on the officers. Despite the gunfire, the Motorway Police pursued the suspects and successfully halted the vehicle.

One suspect was arrested on the spot, and the abducted victim was safely rescued. The victim, a young man from Lahore, had been kidnapped for ransom five days earlier.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities recovered two hand grenades, firearms, crystal meth (ice), and the vehicle used in the crime.

The arrested suspect, along with the seized weapons, narcotics, hand grenades, and vehicle, has been handed over to local police for further investigation.

Additional Inspector General (IG) Ali Ahmed Sabir Kayani and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Fareed Ali praised the patrolling officers for their bravery and swift response in ensuring the victim’s safety and capturing the suspect.
