Balochistan cuts fuel supply by 50% under austerity drive

The Balochistan CM secretariat has issued a notification announcing a significant reduction in fuel consumption and operational usage of official vehicles as part of efforts to curb government expenditures, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to the notification, the fuel allocation for vehicles operating under the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has been reduced by 50 per cent.

The move is part of a broader cost-cutting initiative aimed at promoting financial discipline and ensuring efficient use of government resources.

Under the new directives, officers working from home will not be provided fuel for their official vehicles.

The notification also stated that the generators at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat will only be used in cases of extreme emergency.

Furthermore, the Secretariat has ordered that only 50 per cent of the pool vehicles under its control would remain in operational use, while the rest will be kept off the road as part of the austerity campaign.
