A young man reached Madina Munawara by bicycle, completing his 85-day journey to perform Hajj, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

Saqib Rehman, a Pakistani biker started his journey in February and arrived in May after crossing three countries in 85 days.

Every year, Muslims across the globe embark on a long and cumbersome journey to perform Hajj to fulfill one of the fundamental tenets of Islam, but some aspirants go the extra mile and astonish the rest with their passion and enthusiasm for the sacred obligation.

Among such aspirants is Saqib of Multan who decided to use his bicycle for the trip and become an inspiration for those who haven't been able to perform the pilgrimage despite having the necessary financial means.

Saqib traveled 4,000 kilometers on a bicycle in 85 days and reached Medina and visited Rasool's Tomb, where he was warmly welcomed by Saudi citizens including Pakistanis.

Saqib Rehman said that after reaching Medina, his dream came true.

“It was always my dream [to travel to Saudi Arabia on a bicycle and it came true this year,” Saqib said.

A special spiritual peace was available to him in Madina while he would travel to Makkah on a bicycle to perform Umrah, he added.

He also thanked the people of Saudi Arabia for their generosity and warm welcome. “Whenever I go out with my bicycle ... the support and love I am receiving right now is just incredible,” he said.
