Four arrested in Islamabad over Gold Books App fraud

Police in Islamabad on Thursday arrested four people, including a foreigner, after citizens surrounded the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s (NCCIA) office to protest against an online fraud in which they lost billions of rupees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

People said they had been robbed of their capital they had invested in Gold Books App, an online business application, whose office was housed in the Stock Exchange building.

On Wednesday night, the affected people had held a protest demonstration outside the Kohsar police station of the federal capital and demanded the return of their looted amounts.
