Kim and Kris Jenner slam Ray J’s ‘frivolous’ lawsuit accusing them of leaking controversial tape

Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have strongly hit back at Ray J after the singer filed a explosive new lawsuit accusing them of orchestrating the release of the infamous 2006 tape.

The 44-year-old musician reignited a long-running controversy by claiming Kim and Kris were fully involved in the tape’s commercialization,  an allegation the Kardashian camp has firmly denied.

In a statement issued through their attorney Alex Spiro, Kim, 45, and her 70-year-old momager dismissed Ray J’s lawsuit as baseless and desperate. “After realizing he is losing the case and losing his way, this disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone. Ray J will lose this frivolous case too,” Spiro said.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Ray J alleges he and Kim consensually filmed the tape in 2003. He further claims that in 2006, discussions took place about releasing it publicly, with Kim allegedly insisting that Kris manage the deal and commercial rollout.

The “One Wish” hitmaker argues that the Kardashian-Jenner family spent years promoting what he calls a “false narrative” that the tape was leaked without Kim’s consent.

Ray J also asserts that Kim, Kris, and Kanye West falsely accused him of multiple criminal acts, including sexual assault, extortion, and releasing revenge porn.

He claims the parties later reached a settlement in which Kim agreed to pay him $6 million, alongside a clause forbidding further public reference to the tape on The Kardashians. However, he alleges the family violated the agreement shortly afterward.

Court documents state Ray J is seeking $1 million in damages for the alleged breach.

The new lawsuit comes just weeks after Kim and Kris filed a defamation suit of their own, accusing Ray J of waging a “sustained campaign of harassment and defamation” for more than 20 years.

Their complaint followed Ray J’s viral livestream in which he claimed he was working with federal authorities to build a RICO case against the family — allegations the Kardashian-Jenner legal team say are entirely fabricated.

The filing stresses that no such federal investigation exists and argues that Ray J made “recklessly false” statements presented as fact to millions online.
